I first became fascinated by Amateur Radio in 1980, after visiting local hams during a field day operation. Very soon, I started learning for my license and became 4X6FR in 1982.
This drew my whole family into the hobby and my father 4X6OM, my mother 4X6KT and two brothers all became active Ham’s.
My main interest became very fast chasing DX and contesting, many of them as Multi-single with Seth 4X1DX my contest partner for the last 35 years, lately under the call 4X7R.
In 2001-2003, my contesting experience took a huge step forward after visiting Frank W3LPL and having an opportunity to operate few remarkable contest with the W3LPL team. This very rewarding experience helped me start developing my own contesting skills.
Being in WRTC is a dream come true for me. I am very proud to be representing Israel for the very first time and being a part of this exceptional group. I am looking forward to meet Ham’s I was following for a few decades.

Occupation: Managing Director
My family and I emigrated from the USA to Israel when I was three years old. I was first introduced into the world of Radio in 1978 at the age of 12 by my Father 4X1DR. I started out by SWL and then by watching my father operate. I was immediately "bitten by the bug" and was motivated by him to start learning for my license. I got my license at the age of 14 and very quickly started DXing and contesting.
My father had built a most competitive station including multiple towers and mono banders. The fact that our QTH was by the sea gave us the benefit of a very strong signal. In the 1980's I came to meet Zvi Stessel, 4X6FR, my dear friend and contest partner for the last 35 years. He is one of the main reasons why I cherish this hobby and continue to thrive in it.
In 1984 I joined the Israeli army, and was trained as a communications officer. It is then where my knowledge in radio field operation had truly developed and professionalized.
In 1994 I graduated in Tel Aviv University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc). I soon worked my way up as a Managing Director and formed "Lidoran Tec Ltd", a company specializing in Industrial supply of material handling and conveying systems.
Ever since the age of 14, I have been participating in many contests as single op and Multi single along with my contest-partner 4X6FR. In 2001 I was part of the 3B6RF DXpedition team to Agalega Island, where the pileups were endless and a dream come true for a DXer.
I live in a small town north of Tel Aviv, married to Maya and am a proud father to 3 wonderful kids. It's an honor to be participating in the WRTC, and to represent Israel. I am looking forward to meeting all the great hams in this event.
